FAQ:

Why 'Armour'?

Our namesake is the brilliant work of Tom Shear, and his band, Assemblage 23, and the song 'Let me be your armour', which for us, summed up our view of life. In some circles, donning your armour is a euphemism for putting on your Goth clothes and make-up, ready to go out there and give the unsuspecting public the complete horrors! In turn, it also fits very well with our business, and what we do for others: our customers. So, in conclusion: we sell 'armour' to those who wish to change their look, even if it is only for one night.

Your stock seems to cross over quite a few themes, from Gothic, to Horror, and even from Halloween to theatre. Why is this?

We have one criteria that regards the stock in our shop, and that is that it must be able to be associated with darkness, in its many aspects.  We regard our shop rather more like an emporium of darkness (which is why you will find seemingly unrelated items like bath towels and greeting cards!), and if it was possible, we would exist in a shadowy little corner of some lesser travelled alleyway in Knockturn Alley (oooh, don't sue me, JK!).

In our world, it is Halloween all throughout the year. You will find that most traders only stock Halloween products during the season, whereas we try to keep most Halloween items in stock all year round...and this is because if one of our customers needs spider webs for a room, or a play, or for any other reason at all, you can be sure that you will find it on our site, even in March! Now, saying that, it is also dependant on whether or not our suppliers are able to oblige us, since even they sometimes suffer from the malady of not stocking up until the season is imminent!

We also try to stock unique items, which is why, if you go browsing around our site, you might wonder why we don't stock certain things that you would expect to find on a costume site, or a Goth site. On occasion, it simply boils down to competition from other sites...we don't feel that there is any point in selling something that another 50 people are selling on ebay for example...even though we also trade on ebay, it seems a never-ending task to keep our products unique. We don't want to be 'just another fancy dress site', or 'just another Gothic site'...we would like to offer our customers something a little different.
